About

How I Can Help

Life can get overwhelming at times; events and situations can have an effect on how we feel, behave and even our health. Counselling can help with emotional difficulties, enabling you to gain perspective, understanding, awareness and choice.

The way I work is straight forward, I’m not into jargon or gimmicks; its important to me that you are comfortable, feel able to trust and be sure of me. I see everyone as an individual and therefore take an integrated, or non-rigid way of thinking and working, to find the most helpful approach for you.

We’ll look at the symptoms, or how you’re affected now, but work at a deeper level to understand where things are coming from, so you can make a significant change rather than something superficial.

I work with individuals over the age of 16 and I adhere to the BACP’s code of ethics. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Experience

As well as private practice, I have spent a number of years providing counselling and psychotherapy in the NHS in London in GP’s surgeries, specialist and psychiatric hospitals and have worked with a vast range of issues and clients.

I have a particular interest in working with clients who have gastrointestinal issues, you can read more about this on another page.

I am also qualified to work alongside family lawyers during separation and divorces in a process called Collaborative Practice.

Qualifications
  • MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust, London. The Tavi is a very traditional establishment with an international reputation; it gave me an excellent and solid training.
  • Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from CPPD, London. Here I did an integrative training, this means it was based on many different ways of thinking and is a flexible approach to find the best way of working with each individual client.
  • Certificate in Person Centred Counselling
